Folkroom presents The Lake Poets!

Lake Poets Promo

If you’ve been thinking that your plans for November are looking a little sparse, we’ve got you sorted. Folkroom are very proud to announce that on November 28th we’ll be putting on The Lake Poets in one of London’s most iconic churches – and tickets are available now!

Over the past few years Marty Longstaff and his band, The Lake Poets, have been making bigger and bigger waves on the music scene. Just this week, though, they launched their self-titled debut album. The record, produced by Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, is a stunning collection of songs, which has seen critical acclaim from the likes of Uncut, Mojo and Folk Radio UK (the former describing it as ‘quietly brilliant’.) Marty’s fantastic music has seen him supporting the likes of Ben Howard and Jake Bugg, and if you ask us, he’s got the mileage to make a similar impact on the UK music scene.

So it’s with great pleasure that we can announce our gig, which will take place in the beautiful St. Giles-in-the-Fields church, tucked just behind Tottenham Court Road station. It’s a suitably reverent spot to put on such an act that is so pure of voice. And just because we can, we’re giving you two of London’s finest musicians for support acts!

Michael Garrett has made a real impression on the live scene since debuting his solo act last year. He’s a hugely promising musician and songwriter, and we’re doing our best to keep on his good side – it won’t be too long until he’s the one headlining gigs like this!

Harry Harris has himself been touring a critically-acclaimed album this year, having released ‘Songs About Other People’ back in January. He shares with The Lake Poets a passion for narrative and song, and is a captivating live performer who’ll be playing his last show of 2015 for us at St. Giles-in-the-Fields.

We hope you’ll come and join us on November 28th! Tickets are available here, and will guarantee one of the most awe-inspiring nights of music you’re likely to see this year.
