Winterfalle and Chris Riddell team up for new single and one-off launch gig
Regular Folkroom collaborators Winterfalle and Chris Riddell have announced a new single, Snowdrops, to be released through the label on March 10th. The song, an adaptation of a poem by Riddell, written in spring 2022 in response to the early days of the war on Ukraine. Now, a year on, and with little sign of the conflict ending, both Riddell and Winterfalle hope to use Snowdrops‘ release to raise money for the David Nott Foundation. The charity trains war doctors to provide vital medical support to those caught up in warzones around the world. Much of their work for the past twelve months has been focussed on the people of Ukraine.
To mark the launch, Folkroom will be hosting a very special one-off gig at The Finsbury in London on March 15th. As well as live music from Winterfalle and support Tom Hyatt, Riddell himself will be drawing live illustrations of the songs performed throughout the evening. Though Riddell has regularly collaborated with Folkroom at live gigs previously, this will be his first time drawing at one of our London shows!
Tickets are available now for the night, with more music still to be announced. Profits from the show will be donated to the David Nott Foundation, and there will be original Chris Riddell illustrations drawn exclusively for this event on sale on the night.
