Folkroom turns 10 years old!

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the first ever Folkroom gig! Our plans to celebrate, however, have been rather hampered by a certain global pandemic. Still, we’ve got a few little treats lined up for you today as we mark a decade of music!
Our founder, Stephen, has written a birthday message, which you can find here.
Some of our favourite acts have recorded one-off covers of songs by others in the Folkroom circle – check out these exclusive covers:
The Lost Cavalry perform ‘Moscow’ by Joe Innes & the Cavalcade
Matthew Shepherd performs ‘Every Day A School Day’ by Jess Morgan
And if you want a soundtrack that will last the whole day, we’ve put together a 7 hour compilation featuring our favourite songs by over 100(!) Folkroom performers – listen to that here.
It’s also an opportunity to acknowledge the tough times live music venues in the UK are going through right now. Our first home, The Queens Head, is still in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign to help them re-open. Donate to that here. Our current London base, The Harrison, actually happens to be re-opening today for the first time since March! If you’re in London, think about paying them a visit soon, and buying a drink or two to toast Folkroom with!
We’ll still be on a hiatus for a little while yet, but we’re working on some brilliant gigs for when we return!
